Introduction to Proxifier
Proxifier is a advanced desktop application available for Windows and macOS that allows network applications that do not support working through proxy servers to operate via a SOCKS or HTTP proxy server or a chain of proxy servers.
Normally, tools like web browsers support native proxy setups, but third-party clients, legacy software, automated script runs, and video games lack proxy configuration menus. Proxifier intercepts outbound connections at the TCP/IP stack level and routes them securely through the proxy server.
Using **Turbo Proxy** SOCKS5 gates with Proxifier enables you to route specific desktop tools anonymously without affecting the rest of your operating system's traffic.
1. Adding Proxy Servers in Proxifier
To establish a connection to your Turbo Proxy package in Proxifier, follow these steps:
Step 1: Open Proxy Servers Menu
Open the Proxifier application. Go to the top menu bar, click on **Profile**, and select **Proxy Servers...**.
Step 2: Add Server Settings
In the Proxy Servers dialog window, click the **Add...** button. Enter your credentials as follows:

7000 - Protocol: Select SOCKS Version 5 (highly recommended for DNS privacy and UDP support).
Step 3: Enable Authentication
Check the box next to **Enable** in the **Authentication** section. Input your proxy username and password credentials. Click **OK** to save. Proxifier will prompt you to test the connection. We recommend testing to verify connection parameters are correct.
2. Creating Proxy Rules in Proxifier
By default, Proxifier routes all outbound traffic through the proxy server you just added. If you only want to route specific applications (e.g., Discord or custom Python scripts), you must define **Proxification Rules**.
Step 1: Open Proxification Rules
Go to **Profile** and click **Proxification Rules...**.
Step 2: Add a Custom Rule
Click **Add...**. Give the rule a descriptive name (e.g., "Route Python"). Under the **Applications** section, click **Browse...** and select the executable file you want to target (e.g., `python.exe`).
Step 3: Define Rule Action
Scroll down to the **Action** dropdown list. Select the Turbo Proxy server you configured in the previous step. Leave the default rule to "Direct" if you want all other system traffic to run on your local network connection. Click **OK** to apply.
Troubleshooting Common Connection Issues
1. Error: "Could not connect to proxy server"
Ensure that your proxy credentials and port match your active package in the Turbo Proxy dashboard. If the issue persists, switch the protocol from SOCKS5 to HTTPS to bypass local ISP port restrictions.
2. Local DNS Leaks
To prevent your DNS queries from leaking locally, go to **Profile** > **Name Resolution...** inside Proxifier settings. Select **Resolve hostnames through proxy** to force all DNS name resolutions to run over the proxy tunnel.
